I love Science, teaching, athletics, travelling, football and walking in no particular order!
My teaching career started in Greater Manchester schools, where I was fortunate enough to also have a career running 400m Hurdler with TeamGB. It was a lot of fun racing all over the World, while still teaching GCSE and A-Level Physics (as well as a bit of PE).
After 10 years, I got married and wanted a new challenge so we moved to Dubai. Over 6 years, I've taught physics in a couple of World-leading schools. I have had leadership roles but teaching is my main passion. I've always enjoyed tutoring because it is possible to make big progress in a short amount of time which is very satisfying.
I am now preparing for a move to Edinburgh, a City I absolutely love.
I've been teaching and tutoring for over 16 years now. I keep up with the requirements for GCSEs/IGCSEs/A-Level/IB/Highers and know lots of tips and tricks for how to get the most marks in exams. I am very proficient with OneNote, Teams, Zoom and lots of other fantastic software to enhance online learning. I am a Certified Microsoft Educator after completing over 50 hours of training.
Having said this, I'm always looking for new ways that work and you will benefit from me always trying to find the best methods of online teaching and the best ways to explain concepts.
I can help you succeed in every area of physics and every Exam Board from KS3 through to A-levels, Highers or IB. Whilst I am a Physics specialist, I am also very happy teaching Biology and Chemistry up to GCSE and have taught 'General Science' in several schools in England.
I've taught the core elements of IB (IA, EE, TOK) for 6 years too and am level 3 trained by the IB so I know how they want these things done!
I have 'Qualified Teacher Status', having completed a PGCE and an induction year.
I am also a Certified Microsoft Educator.
I have an MSc(Hons) in Physics from Manchester University.
