Romin's last completed A Level job with Yamman: Intensive - Hi Romin. Please msg me back as I want to do the lessons as planned today. My card should be working now.
Romin's last review in A Level from Alex: Excellent class...:-)
I am a specialist Computer Science tutor/teacher with more than 20 years experience of private tutoring and teaching class based students. I hold a Degree and Masters Degree in Computer Science. I'm fully conversant with all exam board specifications including AQA, OCR, WJEC, EdExcel, IGCSE, Cambridge International, etc.
The subject I teach is my hobby. I have extensive experience of providing online tuition to students all around the UK, Europe and as far as Hong Kong.
Connecting and having a rapport with the student is key. I have two aims, one is to teach the topic within the specification. The other, more important, is to develop the student's confidence.
In addition, I am a full member of The Tutors Association. This is a professional body that ensures best practices and ethics by members.
Myles's last completed A Level job with Fiona: 1-2 hrs/week - My son is in Year 12 and is struggling with various aspects of OCR A level Computer Science. The latest topic being databases. He has just joined a Grammar School for 6th form and many children are doing maths and/or physics alongside CS. Will got a strong 7 in his GCSE but finds the pace of learning at his new school fast. We are looking at a long term weekly session until his exams 14 months from now.
Myles's last review in A Level from Mark: Brilliant. Thank you!
My name is Andrew Laming an experienced teacher of Geography from the UK.
I have been a teacher of Geography since 2003 and have worked in many successful secondary schools. I have been a Head of Geography in two schools for a period of 7 years. I have taught in a range of different schools from state to girls grammar and an independent school.
I have been an online tutor since September 2016 and am also a face to face tutor as well. I have taught many students and do specialise in A Level. I have also tutored students from many prestigious independent schools such as Marlborough College, Charter House, Godolphin School and Mount Kelly School and have enabled the students to achieve very high grades.
I tutor GCSE Geography and History and A Level Geography and History, and have taught all the main examination boards in my sessions: AQA, Cambridge igcse, Edexcel, OCR & Wjec Eduqas.
I have experience of tutoring international students and have taught students in Athens, Bahrain, California, Dubai, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and Kuwait.
I have been for several years an expert examiner for Edexcel for GCSE and A Level Geography. This has given me an inside knowledge as to what exam boards expect and look for in the answers of students.
I strive to get the best results as possible for my students and will always follow the exam board specification used by my students and this enables them to be as successful as possible.
Andrew's last completed A Level job with Adrian: 1-2 hrs/week - My son Fergal is studying English Literature, Psychology and Geography A-level, and needs at least a B in his Geography to get into Exeter Uni (he is predicted A* and A for English and Psychology). Unfortunately he didn't do well in his Geography mock A-level (got an E), and we are worried that currently his teachers may not now predict him a B (at the time of his UCAS application, they predicted he would get an A. The school is planning to run a further mock exam for geography in a few weeks time, and that seems like a one-off opportunity to improve his mark up to at least a B. It would be great if he can get some extra support to boost his chances of success as much as possible. I think one aspect to work on may be getting the style required for geography essays correct, since those are presumably quite different from English lit and psychology essays. Another point could be getting things crisp, so that marks can be achieved within the allocated time, as completing all the questions in the given time seems to sometimes have been a challenge for Fergal.
Andrew's last review in A Level from Emily: Andrew has been very helpful and provided me with help when and where it was needed for my geography A Level.
I have over 4 years of experience in tutoring the sciences across a range of exam boards and levels, and am focused on ensuring each of my students understands how they will best reach their goals.
I am passionate about the subjects that I tutor, and am able to deliver them in innovative and engaging ways. My aim is to build up the confidence of my students in any given subject, and to help each individual to realise their potential.
Eleanor's last completed A Level job with Byron: Over 2 hrs/week - Chromatography, organic synthesis, NMR spectroscopy, electro-protentials
Eleanor's last review in A Level from Evie : continued
I estimate I have at least 6000 hours of experience, having been a tutor since 2011. I initially started teaching Maths and Physics to Engineering students at University and I gradually expanded into secondary school level tuition. I have worked full time as a tutor since 2012 and during that time I have taught Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Engineering.
I have taught A Levels, IGCSE/GCSE, IB, Pre-U, AP and I have covered nearly every exam board including Edexcel, OCR, AQA, WJEC. All of my students are seeking to get into top Univeristies.
What makes me a good tutor is my ability to break down a subject and cover it in a particular order so that a student who might not have a good understanding can understand how to progress through the topics. It doesn't hurt that I have a sense of humour and make my lessons actually fun and enjoyable.

I have tutored in maths & economics for six years, ranging from 7-18 years old. I am also a qualified teacher, with three years of teaching experience in a secondary school. For two of these years I was the Curriculum Leader for Maths & Economics, and was in charge of overhauling the curriculum in both subjects, planning and creating assessments, and supporting students who were falling behind or who needed challenging. This means I have wealth of experience in planning lessons to support students at all levels, including those with special educational needs; I have worked with many pupils with SEN, from dyslexia to autism, both as a teacher and tutor. Creating engaging resources and lessons which address difficulties students have in accessing or understanding the subject is at the heart of what I do.
Samantha's last completed A Level job with Joseph : 1-2 hrs/week - Revision of year 1 A level syllabus to make sure I understand everything thoroughly. Exam practice.
Samantha's last review in A Level from Rachel: Another amazing session!
I passionately believe in students achieving their potential and enjoy the role of personal tutoring to further aid students learning. I graduated with a BA (Hons) in Business and Economics (2:1) and have worked for a number of large organisations offering a variety of depth and experience. Online tutoring is about helping students form around the world to access education via the platform of the internet, to help them succeed at their studies. Firstly, I like to make an initial meeting to understand the needs and objectives of the personal tutoring before developing a detailed plan of the outline of personal tutoring support. I am keen to ensure that both parents and students alike are happy with the service and will accommodate additional requests. I like to ensure that the learner is both enthused and engaged in the tutoring sessions and have a range of resources and assessment techniques.
Subjects and levels taught:
Economics: A Level and GCSE (Pearson, AQA and OCR)
Business Studies: A Level and GCSE (Pearson, AQA, OCR and WJEC)
BTEC Business: Level 2 and Level 3
Cambridge Technicals: Level 2 and Level 3
Trevor's last completed A Level job with Rebecca: 1-2 hrs/week - My son is doing A level business studies. He enjoys it but is now moving on to more project-based work and is unsure how to proceed now the schools are shut. He’d also be glad to consolidate and deepen his understanding of what he’s done so far. He has Aspergers and his processing is a bit slow so he wants to work steadily so he’s well prepared for the A level exams when he gets to that point.
Trevor's last review in A Level from Margherita: Trevor, was really clear and explained all that I didn't understand. Throughout he would ask me questions to make sure I understood it fully. Engaging and useful!
I have been tutoring and teaching for over 14 years, and over half of that has been spent in the position of Head of Science or assistant principal. I believe that I am easy to be around and students feel comfortable when working with me and are confident that they can ask any question, no matter how silly they may perceive it to be. I always try to think of relevant and engaging ways to tackle a topic to enable all abilities to understand.
Having left teaching in September 2018 to spend more time with my baby daughter, I've set up my own business that designs lesson resources for other teachers. This not only means that I have access to hundreds of resources that I share during lessons to back up the learning but also means that I'm aware of the intricacies and key details of all of the specifications, including the International ones
Gareth's last completed A Level job with Andrew: 1-2 hrs/week - I am looking for a tutor for my daughter to help with Cambridge international A level biology. I have vast experience of teaching mathematics and further mathematics to A Level, having taught in three different sixth form colleges for a total of 25 years. I thrive when working on maths with learners; it's a subject I love, and the question of how best to communicate it is one that fascinates me. I'm well-qualified; my first degree at Cambridge University (where I won a scholarship) was in Mathematics and Education, and I have an MSc in Mathematical Research from the University of East Anglia. I also have a Cert. Ed. from Cambridge University and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Professional Studies in Education from the Open University. I'm a keen member of the Association of Teachers of Mathematics, and I'm constantly trying to improve my teaching in discussion with others.
