I have been tutoring and teaching for over 14 years, and over half of that has been spent in the position of Head of Science or assistant principal. I believe that I am easy to be around and students feel comfortable when working with me and are confident that they can ask any question, no matter how silly they may perceive it to be. I always try to think of relevant and engaging ways to tackle a topic to enable all abilities to understand.
Having left teaching in September 2018 to spend more time with my baby daughter, I've set up my own business that designs lesson resources for other teachers. This not only means that I have access to hundreds of resources that I share during lessons to back up the learning but also means that I'm aware of the intricacies and key details of all of the specifications, including the International ones
My approach to tutoring is get the student interested in the subject they are studying, as learning about something you're interested in makes all the content more accessible.
All the content taught in the lesson will be from your school's exam board. The lessons will be based on the content you need for your exams, as well as developing strategies and skills to answer exam questions.
I will be able to provide all material for the tutoring sessions.

I am focused and driven; I tutored for Kaplan Test Prep for 20-years serving 10,000 students. My students dominate exams; I am very excited for them and for the opportunities that lay ahead of them!!
As a postgrad student, I have tutored undergrad Biochemistry for medical students. I have also taught IGCSE Science in Myanmar for more than a year and volunteered as a High school tutor in South Africa over the years. The best part about it is getting to see the light bulb moment when your student 'gets it'. My attitude towards tutoring (teaching) is: " If my student is not understanding a concept, it means I have not explained properly- maybe I should explain it again in a different way."
