I am an English Literature graduate from Oxford University. I am passionate about educating young people and ensuring they reach their highest potential. To date I have worked as a private tutor, mentor, workshop facilitator and coach. As a private tutor I have taught English at GCSE and A-Level and have prepared Ox-bridge candidates, most of whom have been offered a place at Oxford or Cambridge. I have worked with Eton and Mactrac Digital Education to deliver the Eton X language programme, specialising in leadership and management skills for young students. In this role I have also interviewed and prepared prospective tutors, ensuring that tutors deliver the best in digital education. I continue to find new ways to encourage students to perform as their most confident selves when faced with an academic challenge or when trying to reach a specified goal, such as entry into a desired college or university. I have a body of experience as a workshop facilitator, including using creative writing and drama to help unlock student’s potential. I do this work on a voluntary basis and have used it to help foster confidence and initiative in young people and adults. My focus is goal orientated whilst maintaining a commitment to a highly individualised approach. This is powerful because the student is met on both an educational and personal level, providing an individual , allowing and em...

Ella 's last review in A Level English Literature from Chockalingam: English tutor missed the lesson, class expired
I am a professional tutor who graduated from Cambridge with a 1st class BA degree and an MPhil in Education and Literature - I have been tutoring ever since.
I tailor my tutoring to best fit my student's needs and learning style. With extensive experience ranging from primary to undergraduate students, I am confident tutoring for students of different ability and interest levels.
As a published academic writer with experience of private school and Oxbridge admissions processes, I am further confident tutoring to an extremely high level of tuition for a number of top-level schools and universities. Past students have gone on to study at Harrow, Eton, a number of London private schools and of course Oxford and Cambridge, among other universities.
My successes with students are not only due to my own expertise, however, but to my passion for inspiring a love of English in my students as well! During our time together my students not only come to feel more confident in the subject, but also to enjoy it!

English Literature job with Lydia:
Intensive - I have an offer to study Law at Cambridge but have suffered a serious of setbacks with my English teaching. I really can't get my head around Othello ( and can't successfully formulate arguments on the play) despite having read it many times, learnt numerous quotes and explored themes in depth. I am currently working at a B for the Othello question but need an A at a minimum.
On the attached document the first Othello question is last year's question that was set for Othello as an example of what I need help with.
I always build a completely unique scheme of work for each individual client and I pride myself on a creative and colourful teaching style which employs tasks and assignments to engage my students with complex ideas in a clear and accessible fashion. I always keep my lessons interactive and use visual stimuli such as images and videos to support my tutee's learning process...
I have achieved excellent results with numerous clients receiving the esteemed 8 // 9 Grade in their English exams.
In the five years since I began tutoring my work has mostly centred on helping A-Level English students with both coursework and exam prep. I have worked with some of London's leading agencies including Bonas Macfarlane and Craig De Silva and have undertaken in depth work-experience at Grafton Primary School, London. I have also tutored students at some of the UK's leading independent schools including Harrow and Westminster.

I have taught everything from music theory to English as far afield as New York and Madagascar, in classrooms, 1-to-1 and online. I have a Congratulatory First in Modern Languages from Oxford and have been tutoring a range of subjects for the last 9 years. I also have experience of living, working and studying in both France and Germany. Although my style of teaching is friendly and laid-back, I take immense pleasure from academic achievement and from inspiring others to achieve their academic goals.

Here is my draft essay for an AQA english literature the great gatsby question
I love my subjects, and enjoy finding different, engaging ways through which to help my students grapple with them. This is why I started working for Spires and other tutoring companies just over 3 years ago now, helping school pupils and adults alike with everything from A Level English to Greek language learning. I currently work as a research assistant in Oxford University's Phonetics Laboratory, but before this I worked for seven months in a girls' boarding school in Oxford providing Sixth Form students with academic and pastoral support, coaching many through their Oxbridge applications. I have also volunteered over the years in primary and secondary schools, helping students who are on the autism spectrum with their work and communication skills. This has given me experience with pupils of all ages, abilities and backgrounds.

Tabitha's last completed A Level English Literature job with Cristina: Over 2 hrs/week - A level in English literature, tutor with degree from Cambridge or Oxford
Hello! I have over seven years experience working with students at all levels of learning. My goal with tuition is to understand where a student is struggling - whether it is essay structure, exam anxiety, focusing in class, note-taking skills, or effective reading - and create strategies to work with each student that will target their unique problem. I am especially good at working with students who have learning disabilities or who find the traditional classroom setting to be an ineffective environment. I work with tutees to build strong and effective skills for good grade achievement, especially in essay-writing.
I am a patient and friendly person, and structure tuition sessions to keep my students engaged and interested in their subject. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you!

Ameya's last completed A Level English Literature job with Katie: Intensive - Hi, I'm struggling with Keats' poems and Brighton Rock by Graham Greene. I'm available in half term next week and weekly after that. Brighton Rock must be linked to aspects of crime and Keats' must be linked to aspects of tragedy. I'm studying Lamia, Isabella and the Pot of Basil, La Belle Dame Sans Merci, and St. Agnes Eve.
I'm a postgraduate at The University of Oxford, and already hold a Congratulatory First in German (BA) with the best results of the 200 students in the Languages department, as well as the highest grades in Arts subjects at my college.
I also have over four years of tutoring experience, from primary through to GCSE, A Level, and undergraduate. It's a consistent delight to celebrate tutees' successes - be it getting to grips with a thorny bit of grammar, having a 'eureka!' moment with a tricky piece of literature, or passing exams with flying colours.
There can be no one-size-fits-all formula when it comes to a tutoring session. Every tutee has different likes and dislikes, strengths and weaknesses, and will progress at an individual pace. I can help with anything from oral presentations and spoken fluency, to essays, literature, and grammar (having personally tried all the tips and tricks!).
